Surya Namaskar also known as Sun Salutation (“salute to the sun”) is a common sequence of asanas.
The Sun Salutation is a graceful sequence of twelve positions performed as one continuous exercise.Like most asanas,Surya Namaskar also recommended to be performed on an empty stomach. Therefore some recommend a gap of at least two hours after eating and before performing the namaskara. It is generally practiced in the morning before breakfast or in evening.
There are 12 steps in Surya Namaskar
First is,
Raise your hands up, join it, and bring it down.
Second,
Raise your hands up and bend backward.
Third,
Bend Forward.
Fourth,
Keep one leg at Back and Bend it.
Five,
Keep both legs back.
Sixth,
Lie down.
Seven,
Come to the snake position.
Eighth,
Lift your body up.
Ninth,
Keep your left leg front.
Tenth,
Get up and touch your foot fingers.
Eleventh,
Bend backward.
Twelfth,
Come to the first position.
