Siddhartha Gautama, the Founder of Buddhism was born about 583 BCE, in or near what is now Nepal (formerly Northern India). Gautama Buddha, also known as Siddhārtha Gautama , Shakyamuni, or simply the Buddha.
His father, King Suddhodana, was leader of a large clan called the Shakya.His mother, Queen Maya, died shortly after his birth.
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds.
